The year Jenna turned 40 she was a stay-at-home mom married to her college sweetheart. Then one day her husband announced he wanted “a life of spontaneity” and “to see what else is out there.” Which Jenna thought was ironic because she’d recently discovered he’d been seeing what else is out there for the past several years.

A month after the divorce was final, Jenna’s father abandoned her totally dependent mother with no more than fourteen hours notice delivered by text to her brother, who lives in another state. As does Jenna. Dad left for another woman. Jenna and her brother are taking over mom’s care.

With trust issues the size of Texas and unable to afford therapy, Jenna began The Interim Time blog to share her journey and commiserate with other travelers navigating infidelity, betrayal, divorce, co-parenting, elder care, re-entering the workforce, dating while driving a minivan, and building a new life in midlife.
